I have also completed courses with color expert Maria Killam, New York School of Interior Design, and am also currently enrolled in Rhode Island School of Design’s (RISD) Interior Design Certificate program. Being a born and raised southerner, decorating is in my bones and I love tradition, but I’m certainly not afraid of drama and fun in interiors! Besides color, I am also happy to advise on flooring, countertops, tile, hardware, lighting, and other decor and furnishings. Besides being a trained color consultant, my first ‘job’ was as a professional clarinetist, which afforded me the opportunity to travel abroad extensively, to have lived in two foreign countries, and work alongside many different kinds of people. This has given me a more worldly perspective - especially in terms of decor and color - that has helped shape the way I approach my work and also relationships with clients. My goal in working with clients is not only to help them love their home and achieve the feel they want in a space, but to create a home that has a sense of flow and cohesion. Your home can look and feel expensive, without being expensive, and so much of this begins with the right color. I am also happy to work with kids on their rooms—I have two boys, so I know the situation—we can find a color and style they love, you love, and they can grow with!
